About us
Two siblings, one conviction, twenty‑five years
Lui o Lei was founded in Dubai in 1999 by Bahar and Hassan Goldooz. The name is Italian for “his or hers”.
The philosophy
Invest based on knowledge and conviction, not on the comfort of an already-famous label.
Most retail groups in this region compete for the same small set of names. We have spent more than twenty-five years doing the opposite: forming our own view of which European houses are exceptional, then committing the location, the investment and the years it takes to establish them properly.
Three times we have opened the first flagship a brand ever had in the Middle East.

A rare combination in this market
Deep market knowledge
More than twenty-five years reading how this market buys, where it shops, and which districts suit which brand.
Proven flagship development

Partnership as investment
We take positions in brands we believe in and stay for the long term, with our own capital and reputation committed to the outcome.
